The day I stopped trusting the spindle load meter in Phoenix
Ran the same 304 stainless job for 2 years, load sat at 48% every time. Then last Tuesday it read 42% and I ignored it, tool blew apart 20 minutes later and took the holder with it. Turns out the spindle bearings were going and the meter was lying the whole way down. Anyone else had a machine tell you things were fine right before it gave up?

Did you check the spindle temp after that, or was the meter the only thing you looked at? Once they start dropping readings like that, it usually means the spindle is fighting itself and the load sensor is just reading less resistance, not less work.
