Dropped $80 on a Duluth flex fit chimney brush and it's already falling apart

I picked up that Duluth brush from the supply house two months ago thinking the extra money meant better quality. The bristles are already bending out of shape after maybe 15 jobs, and the wire loop at the top snapped on me last Tuesday. Anyone else had better luck with the cheaper steel brushes from Home Depot?

You mentioned the wire loop snapping and I had the exact same thing happen. That brush is supposed to be heavy duty but the little metal ring at the top just gave out like it was made of tin foil. I was really disappointed because I've had good luck with their work pants and jackets over the years, but this brush felt cheap right out of the package. The bristles on mine started splaying out after maybe a dozen uses too, which is no good when you need them to fit tight in a flue. I ended up buying the regular steel brush from Home Depot for about thirty bucks and honestly it's held up way better so far.

I must have used that brush maybe five times before the loop gave out on me. I tried to reattach it with some zip ties, which worked for about one more use and then I just gave up. It's funny, I've got one of their old flannel shirts that I've worn for probably eight years now and it still looks decent, but that brush was a total letdown. The bristles on mine went every which way too, like a bad haircut, and I had to fight to get it down the flue. I guess their quality control is hit or miss depending on the product. I might just have to accept that I'm getting too old to wrestle with cheap tools anymore.
