That $80 cast iron skillet convinced me to stop being cheap

I bought a fancy cast iron pan last month after burning through three cheap ones in two years. The seasoning actually holds and it heats way more even on my crappy electric stove. My line cooks at the diner laughed at me for spending that much, but now two of em ordered the same one. Anyone else finally shell out for better gear and wonder why they waited so long?
