Hot take: should Sunday prep be solo work or team effort?

Last week at our restaurant in Portland, we had a huge blowup about Sunday prep. Half the crew wants to crank music and work together, the other half swears it's faster to divide and conquer in silence. What's your kitchen's approach to getting through the veg and sauce list on a Sunday?

Yo that sounds exactly like our old kitchen! We ended up splitting the difference - blast music for the first hour while everyone works solo on their stations, then do a team blitz on the shared stuff like sauce reductions and prep. The solo time lets people get in their zone, but the group push at the end is way faster for the heavy lifting. Maybe try a hybrid schedule next Sunday and see if it stops the fighting lol.
