I started counting the number of people using self-checkout at my local Target

I mean, I got bored waiting behind a cart full of cat food last week, so I just started counting. Out of 15 people, only 3 went to a cashier. It made me wonder if the cashier lanes are basically just for returns now. Does your store feel like that too, or is it just mine?

Oh totally, my Walmart is exactly the same now!

It's not just Walmart. Every big store feels emptier now, with less stuff on the shelves. You see the same gaps in the cereal aisle and the same few brands of everything. It's like they gave up on keeping things fully stocked.
