I finally took that cashier's advice about bagging produce

Last month at the Kroger on Maple Street, the checker told me to stop putting bananas on the bottom of the bag because they bruise easier than people think. I brushed it off at first, but after three trips where half my bananas turned brown before Friday, I finally started putting them on top and it made a real difference. Anyone else get random useful tips from store employees that turned out to be spot on?

Oh man, I actually have to disagree a little. I mean, I always put my bananas on the bottom and they turn out fine, idk maybe it's just the way I shop though.

Funny you mention that, @dianagreen, because I actually saw something online the other day about bananas ripening from the top down or something. Maybe it's just a myth, idk. But hey, if it works for you, that's all that matters.
