The difference a good tack strip makes. I replaced some old ones in a rental house and couldn't believe the change after 8 years of wrinkly carpet.

Huh, really? Eight years of wrinkly carpet and you're telling me a tack strip fixed it? I've had wrinkly carpet before and honestly I just blamed it on cheap carpet or the pad underneath. Feels like one of those things where people overstate how much a simple part matters. Maybe yours were just that bad, but I'm not convinced a tack strip alone is gonna change your whole carpet game. But hey, if it worked for you, more power to you I guess.
