Shoutout to the old guy who showed me his stair install from 1998

I was always team sewn seam on stairs till I saw his waterfall job still looking tight after 26 years with zero edge fray. Made me switch my whole approach for straight runs. Anybody else change their mind after seeing an old install hold up better than new ones?

Holy cow, 26 years with zero fray? That's wild. I always thought the waterfall wrap would start coming apart way before that. Maybe I've been sleeping on that method this whole time.

Man, that is wild. I've tried the waterfall wrap a few times but always gave up because I thought it would be too loose or start slipping after a year or two. 26 years though, that's basically a lifetime for a piece of gear. Makes me wonder if the trick is really just getting the tension right from the start, and not overthinking it.
