Serious question, hit 500 yards of carpet in a month for the first time.

That's a lot of square footage. Some guys say pushing for big numbers like that means you're rushing and the quality suffers. Others say it just shows you're efficient and have a good system. My crew in Boise managed it on a big apartment complex job. Where do you all stand on tracking big yardage totals?

Pushing for big numbers absolutely means rushing. I've seen guys hit those targets and the seams are popping up a week later. Speed always comes at the cost of a proper stretch and clean cuts.

Seen it happen too many times. The rush to hit a number means skipping the boring steps that actually hold things together. Better to set a realistic daily goal and stick to the process, even if it's slower. A clean job that lasts is always better than a fast one you have to redo next month.
