Got chewed out by a homeowner over my seam placement last week
She pointed out that I put the seam right where her morning sun hits the floor, and now I can't unsee how bad it looks in that light. Has anyone else had to completely change how you plan seams based on window placement?

Yeah that sun angle thing is a beast. It's like how you never notice a scratch on your car until the sun hits it just right, then it's all you can see. Same with dust on a TV screen, it's invisible until the light catches it. I swear people don't realize how much windows dictate what's good and bad in a room. It's not just seams either, I've seen people hang art that looks great at night but washes out completely in morning light. You gotta think about how the light moves across the floor during the day, not just how it looks at noon.

Wait didn't I read something from a flooring forum where someone said you should plan your layouts by walking the room at different times of day first? Like literally go in at sunrise noon and sunset to see where the light hits before you lay anything down. I bet most of us skip that step because we just want to get the job done but it makes so much sense. The way shadows stretch out in early morning or late afternoon can totally change how a seam looks across the floor.
