Another botched order from my local lumber yard has me looking elsewhere.

Honestly it feels like every store has gotten worse with basics lately, not just lumber yards. My local hardware store keeps selling warped two-by-fours and the wrong length screws. Even the grocery store produce is hit or miss now. It turns a simple errand into a whole frustrating ordeal.

Your point about warped two-by-fours is spot on. I started checking every piece before I load it into my truck. Saved me so many headaches. Also, for screws and hardware, I buy in bulk from a known good batch and keep them stocked. It cuts down on last minute store runs for wrong stuff. Finally, try talking directly to the manager at the lumber yard, they might have a better batch in the back or can order specific things for you.
