My mentor in Chicago told me to stop sending thank you notes after interviews, now I'm torn on who's right
I used to send a short thank you email after every interview, and for about six months I got callbacks on almost everything I applied to. Then a mentor in Chicago told me to stop because it makes you look desperate, so I tried it his way for two months and heard nothing back from eight different places. Now I'm stuck wondering if the notes were actually helping or if it was just a lucky streak with easier roles. What do you all think, do thank you notes still matter or is that just old advice people repeat?
