My buddy in Colorado just flipped my whole view on career hopping

I was over at my old friend Mike's place in Denver last month, he's on his fifth job in seven years. He told me staying put looks like you're not hungry enough, and that scared me because I've been at the same roofing outfit for a decade. How do you know when loyalty is helping you or just holding you back?

Man, you just made me rethink everything too. Used to be super old school about sticking with one company my whole career, thought that showed real grit. But hearing Mike put it that way about looking "not hungry enough" really hit me. It's like the rules changed when I wasn't paying attention, you know? Loyalty can turn into a trap if you're just staying comfortable instead of growing. I'm starting to think the real risk isn't leaving, it's staying too long and letting your skills get stale.
