Made the switch from Indeed to local job boards for my latest search in Denver

I spent 3 months on Indeed getting nothing but spam replies and jobs that wanted 5 years experience for entry level pay. Then a friend told me to try the Denver Tech Center jobs board and a few city-specific Facebook groups. In my first week I got three real interviews with actual hiring managers. One of them even called me back same day. Why don't more people talk about how much better local boards are for filtering out the junk? Has anyone else had way better luck with smaller niche job sites?

But doesn't local niche boards just mean you're seeing the same small pool of underpaying Denver startups that can't afford Indeed? @theabarnes might be right that the real filter is just fewer employers seeing your resume.

Doesn't that just mean local employers actually have to see your application?
