The $20 spray bottle outlasted my fancy $140 mister setup

I kept reading everywhere that pump misters were the only way to keep tent seams sealed and fabric damp for waterproofing, so I dropped serious cash on a pressurized system last season. After three trips it clogged twice and the wand leaked all over my pack. Last month in Colorado I grabbed a cheap spray bottle from the hardware aisle at a gas station and it did the same job with zero fuss. Anyone else find that simple gear beats the expensive version for basic maintenance work?

Overengineered gear is just more stuff to break, plain and simple. The fancy mister added nothing except headaches and a lighter wallet. That cheap bottle did what it needed to do, no frills, no drama. Sometimes the answer is just a piece of plastic and a trigger. Why do we keep convincing ourselves that price equals performance?
