Just crossed 200 nights in my hammock this year and realized I stopped using my tent completely back in April.

It was that rainy weekend at Lake Tahoe when I set up the hammock in 5 minutes while everyone else was still wrestling with poles that it clicked for me, has anyone else just ditched their tent for good after a certain number of trips?

Set up the hammock in 5 minutes while everyone else was still wrestling with poles" - that's exactly it for me too. Used to think hammocks were just for naps, not real camping. Shook my head at my friend who ditched his tent years ago. Tried it one rainy trip and never looked back.

Oh the "rainy trip" part though - that actually kind of worries me lol. Hanging in a hammock during rain is great but only if youve got a good tarp setup. If youre just using the hammock with no rainfly thats a recipe for a wet sleeping bag real quick. My buddy tried it without a proper tarp one time and woke up soaked. Gotta have that tarp pitched right or youll regret it. Otherwise yeah hammocks are def the way to go for camping, way easier than messing with tent poles.
