Inflatable paddleboard valve failed in 47 degree lake water
The cheap twist valve on my board let out all the air 200 yards from shore at Lake Tahoe last Saturday, so I swam the board back while holding the broken piece and now I'm wondering if anyone has a reliable fix or if I should just go back to a hard board.

That 47 degree water is no joke, hypothermia sets in fast even if you think you're fine. Did the valve actually crack, or did the plastic base just spin loose from the board? I've seen those twist valves fail two ways and the fix is totally different, one you can patch with epoxy and the other you're cooked. Which part exactly broke on you?
