PSA: Don't buy those cheap nylon pulling socks on Amazon
I ordered a 10-pack of pulling socks from some random seller for $25 to save a few bucks... huge mistake. First big run, the sock split halfway through a 200ft pull and I had to fish the whole mess out of the conduit. Lost about 3 hours and had to buy new cable because the jacket got scraped up. Anybody else had bad luck with those off-brand pulling grips?

Wait are you sure those were actual pulling socks and not just some cheap nylon tube socks? I made that exact mistake last year and got burned too. The real deal from Klein or Greenlee uses a tighter weave so they dont blow out under tension like that. Those cheap Amazon ones are probably meant for light duty runs not 200ft pulls. Lesson learned the hard way I guess, always worth spending the extra 20 bucks on proper gear.

Last time I bought pulling socks from Amazon they had that glued on webbing that started peeling before I even got them out of the bag. Tried using them on a 150ft pull through conduit and the whole thing just came apart at the seam halfway through. How do you even tell the difference between the good ones and the junk ones when the packaging looks nearly identical?

Did you check if the seams were stitched or just heat-pressed together?
