My Klein coax crimper just gave out on a job in Phoenix last Thursday

I was finishing up a triple play install and the handle snapped clean off when I crimped the last connector. Had to run back to the van for my backup tool, which set me back almost an hour. Has anyone else had a Klein tool fail like that, or should I just switch brands?

Normal wear and tear" made me laugh, my last pair of pliers got retired after I used them to pull a nail. Tools just give up sometimes.

That's rough, especially in that heat. Ever check if the warranty covers a failure like that, or is it just for normal wear and tear?

My uncle's garage in Phoenix had a drill motor melt last summer. The heat made the plastic housing so brittle it cracked near the chuck. He argued it was a material defect worsened by the environment, not just use. Some companies have a "storage temperature" clause in the fine print that can actually void things.
