Serious question, did I waste 6 months squaring my boxes off the tablesaw fence?
I was cutting cabinet sides last Tuesday in my shop here in Akron and grabbed a scrap piece to test my fence, and the corner was off by about a 32nd. I stood there confused since I had just checked the blade with my combo square twice. Turns out the fence itself was bowed about .010 over 24 inches, which is enough to throw every crosscut I had made since I got the saw used. I spent 6 months fighting gaps at glue up and blaming my clamps and my glue, and the whole time the tool was lying to me. Now I check fence straightness with a feeler gauge every time I change blades, which takes 2 minutes and has saved me probably 5 or 6 cabinets worth of rework. Has anyone here found a bowed fence after months of use, and did you shim it or just replace the whole rail setup?
