Saw a huge difference in my drawer slides after switching from side mount to undermount
I mean, I always just used the side mount slides because that's what my old boss taught me. Last month I finally swapped to undermount on a kitchen job in Denver and wow, the difference was night and day. The drawers just glide so smooth and you don't see any hardware at all. Has anyone else found it worth the extra cost for the soft close ones?

...my buddy put those soft close undermounts in his whole kitchen remodel last spring and swore he'd never go back. He said it made the cheap plywood boxes feel like they cost twice as much. And honestly, after helping him install a couple, I gotta admit the difference is pretty hard to ignore.

My kitchen cabinets are just plain oak from 1997, but I swapped the hinges out for soft close undermounts last year and it was the easiest upgrade I ever made. @gray_roberts your buddy is dead right, it totally changes how the whole room feels for like fifty bucks. You open a door and it just glides shut without that cheap slam, it honestly makes me smile every time I use it.
