Just realized my sandpaper grit sequence was totally backwards
Been doing cabinets for 8 years and always went 80-120-150, but a guy at the lumber yard told me to try 80-100-120-150 and the finish is way smoother with less swirl marks. Anyone else have a go-to grit order that surprised them?

Wait, you're telling me I've been doing it wrong for 10 years? I feel like I just found out my entire woodworking life is a lie.

Oh, Wendy, do you know how many times I've had to re-learn the same woodworking trick from a different angle? I swear half my projects are just me figuring out what I did wrong last time. @wendy_ross71, if you can, grab a cheap scrap piece and try the opposite of what you've been doing just once. Wet sanding or counterclamping can save so much frustration, trust me on that one. What kind of project got you questioning everything?
