Hot take: I started using a 3/4 inch spacer block for drawer slide installs and it cut my time in half.

I was getting tired of measuring and marking each cabinet for undermount slides, so I grabbed a scrap piece of 3/4 plywood from a job in Tacoma last week. I just hold it against the cabinet side, set the slide on top, and screw it in, and it lines up perfect every time. Does anyone else use a jig or trick like this, or do you think it's better to measure each one?

Yeah but does it work with both 1/2 inch and 5/8 inch overlay doors or just standard full overlay? I messed around with a similar trick on a job but had to switch back to measuring when the cabinets were a weird size from a local shop. Just wondering if that spacer is universal enough for different setups.

Yeah, that's basically a homemade jig right there.

Used to measure every single cabinet. Thought it was the only right way. Tried that spacer trick on a kitchen remodel last month. Changed my whole process. Now my slides are perfect and I save an hour per install.
