Vent: That week when my entire bullet journal system fell apart over a dentist visit

Last Tuesday I had a standard root canal follow-up that ran two hours late. I came home frazzled and forgot to migrate my weekly tasks from Monday. By Thursday I had three missed deadlines, a forgotten grocery run, and my daily logs were a mess of scribbles and blanks. The dentist visit itself was fine, but losing that 48 hours of tracking made me realize how brittle my system gets when one day goes sideways. Has anyone else had a single appointment or event completely derail their whole layout for the week?

OH man, this HITS hard. What really gets me is how one small thing can domino into a total mess. Like you think you're fine because the root canal itself was fine, but then you realize your whole week's focus was riding on that one day. I've had that happen with a simple oil change that turned into a three-hour wait, and suddenly my entire Tuesday was gone. Next thing I know I'm staring at my Thursday spread trying to figure out why there's a grocery reminder from Monday still hanging around. It's like the system is GREAT when everything goes perfect but the SECOND real life shows up it just falls apart.

Gonna push back a bit here @the_susan. That oil change thing sounds more like a failure to plan than a system falling apart. If you book an oil change without checking if they take walk-ins or appointments, that's on you, not the calendar. The root canal thing too - everyone knows medical stuff can run long, so why cram your whole week around one appointment? Leave buffer days. The system works fine if you build in 20% wiggle room instead of pretending life runs on rails. Your reminder from Monday lingering to Thursday? That's just a digital note you ignored, not a testament to how planner apps fail.
