Unpopular opinion: I thought the whole 'future log' thing was pointless until I tried it for real

For a solid year, I just used monthly spreads and ignored the future log section in my Leuchtturm1917. I figured it was just extra pages for people who liked to decorate. Then I planned a wedding in Seattle and had to track vendor calls and deposits that were months out. Scribbling those in the margins of my monthly pages was a mess. Having one spot to see the next 6 months at a glance completely saved my sanity. Anyone else have a part of the system they wrote off that actually became essential?

My bullet journal mentor swore by the future log for tracking quarterly goals.

Honestly, that method never clicked for me. A future log feels too far away and vague for actual quarterly goals. I need to see those targets every single day to stay on track. I keep my current goals right in my monthly spread, so they're in my face. It forces me to break them down into weekly tasks. Stashing them months ahead just makes me forget.
