Tried to save 15 bucks on a cheap dotted notebook at Dollar General
Was at Dollar General last Tuesday grabbing snacks and saw a dotted notebook for $3.50. Figured it was worth a shot for my monthly log. The dots are so faint I need a flashlight to see them, and the paper bleeds through with a standard Pilot G2. I ended up buying a proper Leuchtturm online the next day. So I wasted $3.50 and now I have a useless notebook sitting in my car. Anyone else ever cheap out on supplies and instantly regret it?

Oh man, I did the exact same thing with a $4 dotted notebook from Walmart. Thought I was being smart until I tested a fountain pen on it and the ink spread into a fuzzy mess. Now it's just sitting in my glove compartment as a sad reminder that you really do get what you pay for with paper.

Totally feel you there. I've got a whole graveyard of cheap notebooks that looked like a deal at the time but ended up being useless for anything wetter than a ballpoint. It's a bummer when you think you've found a bargain and it just lets you down like that.
