Of course it felt great with three colored pens in a fancy notebook. That is the whole trick of it. You spent money and set up a system and your brain rewarded you with a little hit of order. Take those same three pens and that method and try it in a cheap spiral notebook that is falling apart. You will quit in a week. The tool is doing way more of the work than the method is. Alastair is fine but it is not magic. It is just color coding with rules, and rules feel good until they get in the way.
