I switched to a cash-only grocery budget for 8 weeks and saved $120 more than I expected

I thought it would be a hassle, but physically handing over cash made me think twice about buying snacks I didn't need. Did anyone else get weirdly better at sticking to their list with cash?

My kids actually got into it. We made it a game with fake money at home first. They'd hand me the cash at the store and check prices themselves. Totally backfired when my 5 year old tried to haggle with the cashier over bananas though.

Haggling with a cashier over bananas though... I mean, it's cute but isn't part of learning money management also learning that prices are set for a reason?
