Honestly, I was paying $12 a month for a budgeting app for 3 years before my friend asked why I didn't just use the free one from my bank.

My buddy Mark had a gym membership auto-renew for FIVE years, he only found out when he changed banks. It's crazy how easy it is to miss those small monthly charges, like @jennyh55 said. You just get used to the money leaving and stop looking.
