Bought a $12 "budget planner" at Target and it somehow made me spend MORE
Picked up this cute planner at the Target on 4th Street last month thinking it would fix my spending, but it only had 3 rows per day and no spot for bills. So I started a second notebook for bills, then a third for groceries, and now I've blown $40 on notebooks and pens just to track money I could've tracked in a free app. Anyone got a system that doesn't turn into a stationery shopping problem?
Skip the planner aisle next time and just use one cheap notebook with a page per week, listing bills on the left and everything else on the right. The problem is not your pen or your planner, it is having five places to look, so keep it all in ONE spot even if it looks messy. I wasted way too much cash on cute stuff before I figured that out.
