Showerthought: I skipped travel insurance for 6 trips to save $40 each, then a hostel owner in Lisbon made me rethink it
He told me about a guest who broke an ankle on the stairs and paid $2,800 out of pocket because they skipped the $38 policy too. Now I want to know, do you all buy it for cheap trips or just roll the dice like I did?

Watched a buddy break his wrist two days into a two week trip in Thailand and the hospital wanted payment up front before they would even set it. He paid about $2,400 out of pocket and spent the rest of the trip stressed about money instead of having fun. For 40 bucks a trip, that peace of mind is worth way more than the cost.
