6 months of meal prepping finally paid off last night

Tbh I started meal prepping back in February because I was spending like $60 a week on takeout. Last night I looked at my credit card statement and saw I only spent $38 on groceries for the whole week. That includes 5 dinners and 3 lunches I made from scratch. The secret was just buying dry beans and rice in bulk from the Mexican market down the street. Has anyone else noticed a big drop in their food bill after switching to batch cooking?

That $38 number isn't counting the beans and rice you bought in bulk though.

Wait, you're telling me my meticulously calculated $38 per week grocery budget doesn't include the 20-pound bag of rice and the giant tub of pinto beans I bought three months ago, @adams.harper? I guess I should factor in the cost of my one-time spice rack investment from 2018 too. Next you'll be calling me out for not amortizing the cost of my salt.
