That 'logo refresh' that removed the quirk cost us 300 regulars
I saw a local diner here in Dayton rebrand last spring, they smoothed out their hand-drawn rooster into some vector clipart look. The owner bragged about the modern vibe on Facebook, but within 60 days their Saturday regulars dropped off by a third. People told me the new sign felt like every other chain, they lost the personality that made the place theirs. Why do owners think cleaning up a brand means stripping out the weird little details that people actually remember?

Can they hire me next time they want to kill a brand? I've got decades of experience smoothing out personality into something forgettable, just ask my exes.
