My fern collection got wiped out by fungus gnats and I lost 8 plants
Honestly I got lazy with watering in July and didn't notice the soil staying wet too long. Woke up one morning and saw tiny flies everywhere around my pots near the kitchen window. Tried those yellow sticky traps and let the soil dry out for 2 weeks straight. Lost half my plants including a 4 year old Boston fern I had from my grandma's house. Has anyone else had luck with nematodes for these things or did I mess up by not catching it sooner?

My neighbor swore by nematodes and saved her last two ferns with em.

Never thought nematodes would work tbh, always figured they were snake oil for overpriced plant stuff. But @olivia_hernandez mentioned her neighbor had luck with em and I finally tried them after losing my third fern. Honestly shocked how fast they cleared out the larvae in the soil, I just mixed em into the watering can and let it sit for a week. Still lost a couple more plants before I caught it but they stopped the spread dead. The sticky traps alone just caught the adults for me, never touched the babies eating my roots.
