Had to choose between a fiddle leaf fig and a rubber tree for my dim living room

I live in a basement apartment in Portland with one small north-facing window. I really wanted a big plant but knew most things would just get leggy and sad. I spent about 3 weeks reading forum posts and decided to go with the rubber tree since people said they handle lower light better. Six months in and it's actually pushing out new leaves, even if they're a little spaced out. Has anyone else had luck with rubber trees in darker rooms or did I just get lucky?

Oh man that's awesome, my rubber tree in a dark corner is actually my toughest plant too.

Wait a DARK corner? Like zero natural light dark? I have one in a north facing room that barely gets any sun and it's still throwing out new leaves like crazy. My friend told me they'll actually drop leaves if you move them around too much so I just let mine sit there and suffer in peace lol. I always thought all plants needed at least some indirect light but rubber trees are built different I guess. How long have you had yours in that spot?
