Finally tried grow lights vs. a south window for my succulents...

Grow lights won hands down after my echeveria stretched out 3 inches in 2 weeks by the window.

@benflores you basically just described my whole relationship with modern convenience. It's funny how we hold onto that old way of doing things just because it's what we're used to, but then one little change and you realize you were making life harder for no reason. Right now my succulents have that deep purple color you only get with legit light, and my windowsill ones are sad and stretched again.

Used to be a die hard window guy, totally thought grow lights were just for people with no sun. But then my haworthia got all pale and started leaning like it was trying to escape the pot. Switched to a cheap Amazon bar light and now my echeveria are actually COMPACT and colorful again. The window was just not enough direct light for most of the day, especially in winter. Definitely a believer now, the difference is NIGHT and day.
