That $90 bone folder from the craft fair was a total rip, my $6 plastic one works better
I spent last Saturday at the Austin Renegade Craft Fair and watched this vendor sell these fancy bone folders for $90 a pop, claiming they last forever and cut cleaner. I grabbed a cheap plastic one from my local art supply store for $6 and it folds signatures just as flat, plus it doesn't squeak when I burnish. Has anyone else found that high-end tools in this trade are mostly hype, or am I missing something about the expensive stuff?
