Unpopular opinion: The Shawshank movie is way better than the Stephen King story and it's not even close
I read Rita Hayworth and Shawshank Redemption back in 2019 after 5 people told me the book was deeper, and honestly the movie hit harder because Red's narration and that ending on the beach in Zihuatanejo just land better on screen. Anyone else think a good adaptation can beat the source, or am I the only one here?

My dad said same thing about Jaws, book had more drama but the movie ate it.
