Rant: Spent 18 bucks on the Kindle version of a book that got turned into a Netflix show
The movie left out the entire middle third of the plot and now I'm the annoying friend at dinner explaining what actually happened, has anyone else had a streaming adaptation butcher a book you paid for?

18 bucks for a book only to get a chopped-up Netflix version that skips the whole middle. Streaming execs think audiences have zero attention span anymore. Next time I'll just borrow the book from the library.

I remember paying full price for a hardcover of a big fantasy series and the movie adaptation cut the entire second act. Felt like I paid eighteen dollars just to watch someone else's cliff notes version. Guess I'm old fashioned but I'd rather read the whole thing and have my own imagination do the special effects.
