I finally get why people hate the Percy Jackson movie now
I used to defend the 2010 Percy Jackson movie for years. Thought everyone was just being a book snob about it. Then I rewatched it last week after my little cousin made me read the lightning thief with her. I realized the movie aged up the characters to 16 for no reason and completely changed the whole tone. It hit me that they missed the point of the books entirely. Did anyone else have that moment where you suddenly saw a movie adaptation differently after rereading the book?

Yeah I had that with Eragon. Loved it as a kid then reread it in high school and couldn't finish the movie.

Wait, wasn't the Eragon movie a movie and not a book? I thought the book was okay but the movie was actually pretty bad. You said you couldn't finish the movie after rereading the book, right?
