The audiobook vs. print debate ended for me in a parking lot
I was driving home from work in Austin last month. Listened to the first 3 chapters of a thriller on Audible. Got home and realized I zoned out for half of it. Picked up the paperback copy I had on my nightstand and read the same chapters in 20 minutes. No rewinds, no distractions. My book club argued about this for 2 hours at our last meetup. Has anyone else found they retain way more from physical books?

That bit about zoning out while driving really hits home for me. I've noticed the same thing with podcasts and even regular conversations these days. There's something about sitting still with a physical book that forces my brain to actually process what I'm reading. I think we're all so used to multitasking and having background noise everywhere that our attention spans have gotten shorter without us realizing it.

Totally forgot I was supposed to be listening to an audiobook yesterday and drove 20 miles in complete silence.
