Can we talk about how I think 'Moby Dick' is actually a comedy?

I argued this at my book club and now they think I'm insane lol.

Have you tried reading the whale anatomy chapters out loud in a deadpan voice? I did that once to prove a point (it totally works). Next time your book club meets, just pick three clearly silly passages and ask them to explain the serious intent. Sometimes people need to hear the absurdity.
