That Friday night at Mox Boarding House changed how I pack game bags

I used to just throw games in a backpack loose, no plan. Then a buddy dropped my copy of Brass Birmingham at a Portland meetup and cracked the box corner. Now I wrap each game in a towel and use binder clips to keep components from sliding. Has anyone else figured out a cheap trick to keep their boxes from getting trashed during transport?

Hey @alicec86 have you ever thought about using those plastic page protector sheets inside the boxes themselves? I started sliding the rulebooks and player aids into them after I spilled coffee on a brand new set of Scythe rules. It keeps the paper stuff from getting dog-eared or stained, plus it adds a little padding around the edges. What do you do for the manuals and loose cards that tend to get bent in transit?

You ever notice how one bad experience just rewires your whole brain for good? It's like that with game bags, but I swear it applies to everything from packing a cooler to loading a trunk for a road trip. I do the same thing now with my card games, I put them in those cheap plastic photo boxes from the craft store, keeps everything snug and stops the boxes from getting that crushed look. It's funny how a little bit of cheap organization can save you from that sinking feeling when you hear something shift inside a bag.
