That $40 card game my friend swore by actually blew my mind last weekend

I rolled my eyes when he pulled out this weird indie game called 'The Crew' from a dusty box, figuring it was just another co-op snoozefest. Three rounds in and I was literally on the edge of my seat trying to coordinate space missions - has anyone else been surprised by a game that looked totally boring on the shelf?

Oh man, The Crew is no joke! I remember being so smug thinking I'd crush it because I grew up playing hearts with my grandparents, then I completely faceplanted trying to explain the rocket launch to my group (I blamed the pizza, not my own brain fog). I literally waved my hands around like a maniac trying to signal something obvious, which just made my friends laugh at me while we failed the mission. It's honestly embarrassing how invested I get now, like I'm some kind of space commander sweating over cardboard instead of real life stuff.

The Crew totally did that to me too, man. I spent a whole Saturday trying to convince my buddies that this card game with a space theme was worth their time after I bought it on a whim for like 12 bucks off Craigslist. First game I was half paying attention, thinking it was just another trick-taking thing. By the third mission I was literally yelling at my friend for not playing the right card because we needed that damn communication satellite to finish. I'm pretty sure I looked like a total noob sweating over a deck of cards in my living room. Honestly, the game tricked me into being way more strategic than I ever thought I'd be with cardboard and numbers.
