Dropped $220 on a post vise and it ruined my anvil work for a month
Everyone told me a leg vise was the upgrade I needed, but mounting it at the wrong height made me hunch and lose hammer control for weeks. I finally dropped it 6 inches lower than the chart said and my shoulders stopped aching. Anyone else had a tool that fixed one thing and broke another until you tuned it in?
Bought into the "taller vise is better for your back" thing for years and mounted mine high because some chart told me to. Turns out I was fighting the hammer the whole time and blaming my arms instead of the setup. Dropping it lower so I could actually swing freely changed everything for me too. Funny how the right height is whatever lets you work relaxed, not whatever the chart says.
