Took me 3 whole weekends to find a thriller show that actually scared me

I kept starting shows that everyone raved about but nothing hit the spot until I tried Dark on Netflix. Anybody else have trouble finding genuinely creepy shows that aren't just jump scares?

Started watching Dark last month and honestly got so confused by the timeline I spent half the time googling family trees... kept pausing to figure out who was related to who. My buddy told me to just let it wash over me but I couldn't stop trying to connect the dots in my head. Ended up rewatching the first season twice before I finally got the gist of it.

Ended up rewatching the first season twice myself. Used to think complex plots were just pretentious but Dark was the one that proved me wrong.

Totally agree with "just let it wash over me" being bad advice for some people. I used to think all these puzzle box shows were just complicated for the sake of looking smart. Dark was the one that proved me wrong for me too. Once I sat down and actually mapped out the family trees and watched with subtitles, everything clicked. It's not pretentious when every detail actually pays off.
