Debate: should you grease pedal threads or not? Got into it at a shop in Denver last week

I was down at a co-op in Denver last week helping out, and a guy brought in some old platform pedals with seized threads. He swore you should always grease them, but the mechanic next to me said pedals need dry threads or they back out over time. I've always put a thin layer of anti-seize on mine and never had issues, but this other dude claimed he's pulled apart three cranksets this year from pedals loosening up with grease. Now I'm second guessing my whole setup. I mean, the manual for my Shimano cranks even says to grease them, but maybe that's just for new installs? What do you all do for pedal threads on customer bikes?

You convinced me, I used to grease mine too but now I'll go dry.

Dry is the way to go once you get used to it. Less mess to clean up after too, trust me.
