A diner in Boise charged me 50 cents for a lemon wedge and I'm still mad about it
Stopped at a little breakfast spot off Vista Ave in Boise last month and ordered water with lemon. The server brought me a tiny plastic cup with two wedges in it and the receipt showed a 50 cent charge for "lemon garnish." I asked about it and she just shrugged and said it's store policy. Here's the thing though, this place also brings you a free basket of warm biscuits with honey butter the second you sit down. So they're giving away biscuits but nickel and dime you on citrus. I started paying attention after that and a lot of spots do this now, charging for sauces, extra pickles, even ice. My take is if you're already giving out free bread, the lemon is not where you make your money. It just makes people feel tricked when the bill shows up. Has anyone else run into weird charges like this at diners, or is Boise just special?
Man, my buddy got charged a buck for a side of ranch at a wings place in Nampa last year and he almost lost it. Free biscuits but paid lemon just feels like a slap.
