Thought my old mentor was crazy for charging $75 for a basic fade
Three years ago in my first shop, I watched him turn down a $40 offer and explain his price for 20 minutes. He broke down his rent, product cost, and the 15 years he spent getting that fast and clean. I finally get it now after raising my own prices and seeing clients stick around because they value the skill. What's a price point you held off on that worked out better than you thought?

It's just a haircut though, not open heart surgery.

Solidarity on this one. It took me switching from a chair at a chain to my own setup to really get why the price has to match the time and skill. The part that clicked for me was when regulars started tipping extra because they knew my rate was actually fair for what they were getting. It's wild how we're trained to think cheap is better, but the people who stay are the ones who respect what we do. Have you noticed your regulars treat you different since you raised your prices?

Remember when @kaiblack's buddy tried to cheap out on a tattoo and ended up with a messed up ankle bracelet?
