Hot take: That 'glow up' you see in clients after 3 months isn't from your scissors

My friend Jenna does hair and she had this client who came in every month for a year. The lady's hair got longer and shinier but she also lost like 30 pounds and started dressing way different. Jenna posted a before and after photo and everyone was like wow your work is amazing. But Jenna told me the real story. The client was going through a nasty divorce and got on antidepressants that helped her eat better and sleep. Also she started walking every day because her doctor told her to. Jenna just trimmed the split ends and gave her some layers. The scissors didn't fix her life, ya know. Sometimes people just get their act together and we want to take credit for it.

The scissors didn't fix her life" really hit me. I used to think stylists were basically miracle workers when I saw those dramatic transformations, but this made me realize how much we credit the wrong thing. Thanks for sharing that @adams.harper, it's humbling to remember people's real changes come from inside, not from a haircut.
